Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple
Sree Pathamanabha Swami temple is located in the Trivandrum dist of Kerala. The temple is constructed in the Dravadian style like the temples in tamil Nadu and is said to be the replica of the temple Adikeshava Perumal in Kanyakumari. The deity worshipped in Pathmanabha swamy temple is lord Vishnu in his Ananthashayanam Posture, the eternal yogic sleeping position, the way Lord Vishnu rests in Palazhi, on top of the serpent Ananthan. It is said that the Palazhi still flows beneath the shrine.
The darashan (auspicious sight) can be done through three different doors where each door reveals a section of the idol, only then Lord Vishnu’s whole body can be visible. The idol here is so huge that it replicates exact Lord Vishnu in his Ananthashayanam in Palazhi.
The dress code is to be strictly followed inside and around the temple premises.
